What's that bright thing in the night sky?

The moon is always reflecting from the sun. sun. The sun shines on some part of the moon at all time. During the day the sun’s light brighter than the moon’s.

Moon was formed 4.6 billion years ago.

The moon is a satellite of any plant, moon is a natural satellite. At night, no sunlight hides the moon and you can see it clearly.

The moon is in solar system and it is in space. The moon is the only natural satellite of the earth. The moon is the fifth largest moon in the solar system and the moon is the easy to find because you can look up into the sky to find it. the sky. The moon rotates around earth.

The moon is important because it affects our natural environment, especially the tides and the sea currents.

It's getting windy!

Wind is the natural movement of the air which we cannot see because it is invisible Sometimes  it can be hot and sometimes it can be cold or very, very cold!

If it is very windy it could cause a hurricane or storm which can cause a lot of damage to properties, plants, trees and crops. Sometimes the wind is very calm so calm that you do not even seem to hear it.

               

Wind gives us oxygen to breathe and the trees help clean the air from the pollution. When a cold wind and hot wind is combined, it creates tornadoes.

According to a report on TV, there are many tornadoes that form in Canada and some parts of America.

When you feel the breeze of the fresh, clean and gentle wind, it feels soft and nice on your skin. It makes us feel good.

When it gets very windy, we can hear it whistling and we can see the plants and trees swaying  and the leaves rustling.

The wind is important because we need air to breathe on earth. It is also important that the air around us is clean and that’s  why we should look after our environment and make sure that it is not polluted. We should plant more trees so the air that we breathe becomes cleaner and fresher.

Do you want to know what frost is?

Frost are made of white crystal, when it is snowing,  you can see them on trees, on grass, on plants, on cars  and on the ground. Frost feel cold like ice . You see frost in winter when it is very cold.

When the weather is cold and freezing. Frost forms to cover earth. This is a natural phenomenon. Frost can make fruit plant can damage.

Frost is very cold like a ice, drink and ice cream.If you wanted things to be cold or frozen, we have to put it in the fridge.

Today, Saint Patrick's school went to Duffy assembly to see our Duffy hero.

Tony has written over 50 books,  some have been published. One of his books is called ‘Rugby skills tactics and rules’. He came to talk to us about how to be good writers.To be a good writer you need to understand a lot of words and have your own ideas.

The 1970's stone cottage!

Cottage is a old small house relocated from McDonald's in 1900’s to Queens road.

They used the typewriter instead of using a phone to tax and sent to someone. They have no bathroom, they read a big bible to some children before they go to bed.

They used coal to put in the fireplace when it very cold. The cottage are made out of stone and it cover 2 acres of land.The room is for the people who is  sleeping in it, they have a old vacuum cleaner to clean their house.They read lot’s of old books from the 1970’s.

They play old music with an old music book to sing a song with their family. They have old jar, cup, plate and a tea cup.They have an old wind up clock,if the clock strikes a hour it will go noising and you can’t sleep through the night.The house was built in the 1900’s.

Why it is important that we maintain Panmure cottage because they have a very old plate, jar, doll’s, bible, washing tool and old books. They have no bathroom because the old days they use something different. Panmure is a history in 1970’s.
