Children shouldn't drink sports drinks?

Public health experts are calling for unhealthy drinks to be taken out of Saturday sport.

A recent study from the Otago University has shown that many of the sports drinks that children consumes on Saturday are filled with sugar.

Most children within the survey thought that the drinks were good for them because they were packaged and advertised as helping people play sports better.

Dr Smith said that the children who played Saturday morning sports do not need sports drinks for extra energy. For any activity up to 90 minutes long, water is the best option for children.
